I am giving you a bit more of our personal background since of of the options we are offering is for us to be your guides as well as crew to assist in sailing our boat. This does not have to be a reciprocal arrangement:
I am a former Town Planner who subsequently changed careers and in his 40's established Caribbean Expeditions an outdoor adventure company in Belize (with cruising the reef being one option offered). I then followed up with a canoe and kayak company in Victoria,BC Canada featuring a 49 foot cedar strip West Coast which I built and used as both as a tour vessel and kayak mothership operation. I also established a sail training company in this same city - and operated this training venture for many years both around Victoria and adjacent Vancouver island. Sue, my partner is not only a great cook but a skilled provisioner.
I also have some blue water experience having sailed the Bahamas and coast of Australia. In the last couple of years since retiring, I raced my F27 trimaran in the R2AK (race to Alaska for boats without engines) ) and last year have taken this tri on a 900 mile cruise around Cuba and the eastern Caribbean with a young gal.
Being located near Victoria, our vessel is strategically located for cruising either the Gulf and San Juan Islands, Desolation Sound, or the wild West Coast of Vancouver island adjacent, all recognized as world class sailing destinations. Marine wildlife is abundant and the wild and the unusual can still be found without much effort. The quaint small towns along much of our coastline are not only interesting to visit, but many offer the supplies and repair facilities one might need.
We are now interested in sailing places like the Mediterranean, more of the Caribbean and of course, more of New Zealand and perhaps the Barrier Reef.
Fully equipped for cruising , including not only brand new chart plotter and radar but a cockpit that can be fully enclosed, a hard bottom dinghy on davits, roller furling genoa, in-mast main furling, spinnaker, large freezer and fridge, and a two cabin layout comfortable for 2 couples. The engine is a Yanmar 40 with folding prop. I also have the choice of taking along 2 kayaks or wind surfers, or if pushed, to take along my Hobie tandem Island tri.
