Niel grew up in the coastal town of South Shields in the NE of England, the 12th generation of his family to go to sea. It started at the tender age of sixteen, when he left school and got on a boat, as a natural progression in his life. He started fishing in the North Sea then joined the merchant navy where he gained his commercial certificate. After that he discovered the yachting industry by accident in 1994 through a chance encounter. A natural seaman, he obtained his first captain's job on a 35m yacht in 2001. During Niel's career, he has worked on 6 yachts both charter and private.
Justin was born in Sydney Australia and he was raised in Perth, Australia. Growing up he played soccer/football competitively for Australia Under 21’s. He now has 3 children of his own. He received his higher Education at St. Marks Anglican High School. In his career prior to yachting, Justin was a landscape architect and gardener. Not only is he able to create amazing flower arrangements, he has the talent of being able to tell you the botanical name of each and every plant. Justin joined yachting 1999 whilst he was traveling, and yachting found him, so to speak. For charter specifically, he has several strengths and qualities... many of which are attributable to the fact that he has 3 children. He has the know how to keep young charter guests entertained and safe; busy kids equal happy mums and dads! Justin is down to earth yet professional. He has a knack for fulfilling even the most last-minute requests from guests and the more challenging the better. He has not yet failed!
Born and raised in Hackney London, Tawno studied History with Economics at the University of Manchester. Most people call Tawno “T”. Sailing is in his family, T’s uncle served on the HMS Belfast. Tawno decided he wanted to leave the library behind to pursue a more outdoorsy life, so he left to work for his friends sailing school in Barcelona in 2013, this began his career on small sailboats. T has been working on boats ever since and loves it. T enjoys historical sites, exploring castles and anywhere with secret passages.
Tommy grew up in Scotland where he learned at an early age to have an appreciation for nature and adventure. Growing up Tommy began to take up an interest in the kitchen making creative and unique dishes. Tommy worked in a number of Michelin star restaurants where he learned to approach all meals with a “bottom up” approach, hand picking and growing the produce used in his recipes. Since leaving the Michelin starred Boath House in the highlands of Scotland, Tommy has applied his craft globally cooking for high net worth individuals on various super yachts, private villas and chalets. Tommy continues to look to nature for inspiration in his dishes and showcases his talent at the highest level in yachting. Longevity and loyalty along with his disciplined focus and hard work with like minded professionals is Tommy's key to success.
Beata grew up in Budapest completing her culinary training in the city in 1996. Her love of cooking stemmed from her Father, and she grew up learning the traditions of Hungarian Cooking, including those over an open wood fire as a teenager. Beata is passionate about food and has had a career dedicated to the Restaurant & Hospitality industry, being both a Head Chef and working in the service side. Beata has spent the last ten years managing and cooking in Restaurants in Bristol, England, where she has developed her skills in Sushi, Thai & Fusion Asian, Italian, French, Mediterranean cuisine. She particularly enjoys seeing culinary differences and incorporating them into new dishes. Most recently she has spent time in Chiang Mai gaining yet more first hand experience with Thai food. Beata also has a natural flair for artisan bread, baking & cake making, combining all her creative talents makes for some delicious menu planning. Her yacht career started in 2017 as a sole chef, she worked on various luxury yachts in Monaco and Cannes.
Lindsey was born and raised in a beautiful ski town in the Canadian Rockies. With a background in hospitality, she has worked in restaurants around the world. She spent many winters on the ski hill supervising at a fine dining restaurant, and during the summers, putting on weddings each weekend. She attended UCB Sauder School of Business to obtain her Licenses in Property Management and Strata Management. Taking her experiences on land with her, she jumped into yachting with both feet in 2015. The transition was a smooth one and she hasn’t looked back since! Lindsey has a passion for helping people and loves connecting with her guests to anticipate every need before it’s asked. She loves the fast pace of charters and the excitement of not knowing what each day will bring. With her upbeat and warm personality she is grateful to play such a big role in ensuring all guests have an amazing experience on-board!
Victoria was raised in Salzburg, Austria. She spent her childhood in the mountains and the sea and, coming from a family of yachtsmen, she and her four siblings grew up sailing a lot of lakes. Eventually, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Chesapeake Bay became their second home. Victoria received a Fine Arts Degree from Vienna Art Institute. She has 15+ years in hospitality, both professionally and for fun. She has spent 10 years as an EA, admin and in project management for tech startups & creative agencies. Victoria joined yachting 2016 to follow her desire of living on the seas. She considers herself a natural service professional and loves being both behind the scenes and on the floor creating amazing memories for friends and guests alike. She is excited to build onto her yachting knowledge and also put her varied background to good use. She is versatile, authentic and efficient, with a smile and always a helping hand. Victoria loves a good challenge, a fast-paced environment, thinking off the cuff, and working with a dynamic team to make magic happen.
Star was born and raised in New Zealand and she grew up in a very competitive family; they spent a lot of her childhood skiing and snowboarding together. Star grew up by the beach all her life and the ocean has become something of a lifeline for her. She went to Mount Magnui High School and spent the final year of high school in Denmark on a student exchange. Previous to yachting, Star worked in retail, which has helped her gain excellent people skills. She started yachting in 2019 and she had already been familiar with the yachting scene as she grew up around ex-yachties. Star is a bubbly and energetic person who is always willing to cater to guest’s needs, making her especially perfect for charter programs. Her previous yacht was smaller and very busy thus it is a great training ground; Star is accustomed and versed in all areas. She loves the rush and business that come with charter programs, enjoying the “never a dull moment” pace.
Cleo is originally from South Africa and she moved to the UK at 13 years, then moved to Australia at 20. She has been in the Yachting industry since 2019 learning as much as possible of the stewardess role, previously she was a Flight Attendant for Virgin Australia for 3 years. Growing up in different countries Cleo has a passion for travelling and learning about all the different cultures of the world. Cleo has a natural love for the outdoors whether it be in ocean diving, (trying to Surf) and all other Water sports. She also has a keen interest in keeping healthy and active, one of her favourite fitness hobbies is Rollerblading, along with lifting heavy weights. Cleo also loves to get in the kitchen and bake, Brownies being one of her specialties. ‘A perfect relaxation afternoon for me would be to lay in a hammock playing board games and reading a good Romance novel'.
Megan was born and raised in a small seaside town in Cornwall, South West England. After finishing school, she worked various positions within the hospitality industry with her main aim being to fund her passion for travel. She then decided to combine the two and joined the yachting industry in 2009. Since then, Megan has worked onboard private and charter vessels worldwide and simply loves to be in the ocean. She is currently learning to sail, with the goal to eventually sail around the world on her own sailboat.
Luke was born and raised in Marton, New Zealand where he admittedly grew up being in the water more than out of it for the better part of his early and teenage years. He has always loved scuba diving, fishing and jet skiing especially and is an absolute natural at all three. On land Luke is also very active; a keen sportsman and always up for some fun in the sun with beach games and activities. Luke is a born entertainer and enjoys picking a tune on his guitar and trying out his new ukulele.
Paul was born and raised in Texas and grew up both on a ranch and a lake house. He played American football from when he could first walk until the end of his college years. Paul completed his higher education at Sam Houston State and he graduated in 2015 with two degrees, one majoring in Criminal Justice and the other in Psychology. Paul also spent some time working as a divemaster in Thailand. Yachting has always been a dream of his and, in 2017, Paul sold his house and cars, packed a bag with clothes and off he went to Australia to begin training and get his yacht-masters. Some of Paul’s strengths and qualities that shine whilst on charter programs are that he is fun, outgoing, and he loves hearing guests’ stories. He is always happy and keeps a smile on his face. He is a self-starter, enjoys the little things and has a positive outlook. He loves making guests feel at home and at the same time making them feel like they are on an adventure. As it is their holiday, Paul and the entire crew on board want guests to always talk about how good of a time they shared with Paul and the rest of the crew.
Sam Robert Parkinson, also known as SamBob, Parko, or Sloth to his friends, was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. Sam loves sports of all kinds. He completed his higher education, NCEA Level 2, from Mahurangi College. Previous to his yachting career, Sam worked in building and construction for two years. Sam has been in yachting since 2016 and was drawn to it because he liked being around water. He is excellent at water sports, a strength that shines for busy charter programs.
Paul grew up in Kerala, in the tropical south of India by the beautiful Indian Ocean. As a boy, he knew that was where his heart would always be. Graduating from engineering school, he first joined oil tankers which took him all over for the better part of a decade. He made the transition to yachting a couple of years ago, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. An avid swimmer and free diver, Paul loves to spend time soaking up the beauty of our surroundings. The crew will argue that Paul’s best asset is his soft voice – which is sure to charm all of our guests.
Dominic is from the New Forest in the U.K. He is extremely fond of wildlife and nature. He is a football fan and enjoys watching any English premier league game. He completed his senior marine engineering exams this year at Warsash school of engineering and maritime science in the U.K. He has been working as a marine engineer since 2014 and is fascinated with all systems on board. Dominic absolutely loves music and played in a band for many years completing two UK Tours and releasing an E.P. with Mercury records. One of his fondest moments is playing on the same festival as Elton John and Snoop dogg.
