Captain

Spiros

Spiros was born in 1975 in Greece. His experience in sailing along with his friendly and enthusiastic personality makes him an ideal Captain for Serenissima! Among others, Spiros has participated in various offshore racing, has done yachts' delivery across the Mediterranean Sea, and has worked as an Assistant Instructor in the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club. He holds a RYA Yacht master Offshore Certificate of Competence, GMDSS. Along with his adaptability and great organizational skills, the captain is always ready to welcome his guests, aiming to ensure a hospitable ambiance onboard. He helps to create exceptional charter experiences, including a fully bespoke itinerary that makes the most of all the Mediterranean has to offer. He speaks Greek, English, Spanish, and Thai and in his free time he loves sailing races, cooking, fitness, and volunteering.

Chef

Alexander

Alexander was born and raised in gorgeous Cyprus. As his father is a Captain, he has been sailing for most of his life around Cyprus and through the Greek Islands. Alexander feels a deep connection with the sea and never strays too far from the water. He believes in the saying, ‘do what you love and you never work a day in your life’ – he loves sailing and food… making life on this yacht perfect!

After completing his studies in Biological Sciences at the University of Liverpool, he took the route of becoming a chef. As he has always loved to eat, it was the perfect career decision! He studied through his travels and working in various restaurants where he honed his craft being trained by gifted chefs. The most outstanding was Matthew Zappoli, the head chef in NYY steakhouse, who gave him a solid foundation of knowledge that drastically increased his love and passion for cooking. After that, everything just naturally evolved.

In his free time, he dedicates himself to music and art. His main instrument is the violin, but also plays the guitar, sings, and will pick up most musical instruments. And eating - he loves Pastichio! Tacos - very spicy! And, enjoying a beautiful Ribeye Steak sauteed in herbs and butter. Alexander is excited for this summer season and showing guests the beauty of the islands while spoiling them with incredible culinary delights.

Hostess

Phoebe

Phoebe is 31 years old and describes herself as a Greek/ Zealander – having been born in New Zealand and raised in Greece and later in London. With a love of the sea, she jumped at the opportunity to work on yachts as a chef. After receiving her sailing and powerboat licenses from Delphinario Sailing School, she changed her focus as a chef to work as a deckhand and stewardess. Along with her sailing qualifications, she is PADI Scuba certified and is a licensed yoga instructor… a perfect combination to have onboard Serenissima.

In her free time, Phoebe has been very active in volunteering. She is currently with the Communitism Association of Athens restoring Cultural Heritage buildings and utilizing the spaces as Socio-Cultural Centres. Previously, she was a Board Member and Treasurer of Hestia Hellas/ Chora an NGO based in Athens. She is fun, personable, and excited to welcome guests to the beautiful Greek Islands!
