The private charter experience on board Dunia Baru is hard to describe. A yacht, inextricably linked to its surroundings, sailing through one of the world’s most marine-rich waters. A belonging, as you become one with remote archipelagos, untouched by time. The yacht accommodates up to 14 guests in 1 master suite and 6 double en-suite cabins.
Handcrafted using only the best Ulin wood, her heritage is proudly displayed in all areas of the yacht from her perfectly balanced hull down to the joinery of her latches. To observe her up close is a truly pleasurable survey of expert craftsmanship and artistry by the renowned Konjo Boat Builders in South Sulawesi. Designed to facilitate gatherings between family and friends, she boasts expansive decks and spacious interiors for the ultimate in relaxation and play.
Meals on board are thoughtfully crafted to guest preferences by Dunia Baru’s gourmet chef and his team. Vegan and gluten-free diets can be well accommodated, as well as specifically designed menus for wellness and fitness goals.
Dunia Baru was built for families. For the owners, yachting has always been about exploring and creating memories with the people closest to them. Areas where guests gather are purposefully designed to be expansive and relaxed. High sturdy rails and plenty of space allow children to move around on board in complete safety.
There to elevate the Owner’s Experience on board Dunia Baru is her crew of 18. Led by her experienced Cruise Director, they offer the attentive, discreet and “can-do” service that makes being on Dunia Baru so pleasurable.

Captain La Suwu has a longstanding career on the sea, with 19 years of experience as a ship’s officer. Beginning in 1997, his leadership has spanned a variety of vessels – from Landing Craft Tanks to tugboats to passenger ships. The breadth of his seafaring experience and local knowledge makes him an extremely adept master of Dunia Baru. La Suwu joined the crew in May 2015 and he maintains that this is his proudest role yet.
“Every ship has her unique characteristics: Dunia Baru is not only strong and safe; she is a modern yacht with all the latest technology, equipment and amenities, with the elegance and beauty of a classic phinisi.”
Captain La Suwu hoists the sails whenever possible. “There is no more beautiful sight than Dunia Baru with her sails up.”
Guests are always welcome on the bridge. Here you’ll find excellent views of your incredible surroundings and, if you’d like, Captain La Suwu will even let you take a turn steering the vessel (under his guidance, of course!).
Travel has always been a way of life for Balinese chef Nyoman. It was while living in this diverse country that he developed an interest in worldwide cuisine, and it was this curiosity that led him into his chosen profession.
“I feel very identified with Indonesian cuisines, and always enjoy sharing the flavours and memories of my past,” says Nyoman, who studied for a Culinary Diploma at Mapindo Hotel and graduated from the technical training series program by Cedric Bourassins, learning the principles and techniques of Chef
Michel Bras.
Over the past fifteen years, his career has taken him from Spain and Portugal to China and is now settled back to Indonesia.
“When cooking I always prioritize using the best and freshest produce available,” he says. “This enables me to create a diverse and creative menu while catering towards guests’ preferences.”
Nyoman has always loved outdoor activities and sports, and sailing in particular is his favourite way to connect with nature.
