The award-winning yacht enjoys a traditional interior with a contemporary twist, mixing neutral tones and Indonesian influences. Large volume and light-filled interiors are paired with a silent cruise and eco-minded onboard practices, including sustainably sourced products and hybrid propulsion.

Sleeping 12 guests in five ensuite cabins, with further accommodation for a crew of 11, GALILEO guarantees impeccable service catering for all guests’ needs. 

Large and uncluttered exterior deck spaces for relaxing and entertaining are complemented by a generous selection of water toys. The setup also boasts a comprehensive inventory of tenders, including a customized 31’ (9.5m) Zodiac, a Hurricane expedition RIB, which is neatly stored in the garage forwards, and a sophisticated dive suite for underwater exploration.

Built in 2011, the yacht enjoys a full displacement hull conceived by Philippe Briand for a solid onboard experience, detailed craftsmanship and gym equipment in the lazarette. Adventure-themed charters, such as surfing and diving packages in the tropics are complemented by wellness and romantic-themed offerings, ensuring a charter aboard GALILEO caters to all needs and preferences.

Tim Comes from Thames, a small town on the east coast of New Zealand. Fishing, Hiking and Water sports being on the doorstep growing up are still some of his main interests. Originally from a land based mechanical engineering background he joined yachting 7 years ago, sailing worldwide on multiple different boats.

Captain

Wes Bartho (Rotational)

Wes grew up on the East Coast of South Africa where his connection with the ocean began at a young age, having spent time on boats from the tender age of 3. He has since travelled the globe for the past 16 years on charter and expedition yachts alike, and relishes the adventure of 'off-the-beaten track' cruising. A waterman to the core, Wes has a diverse range of water sports experience ranging from surfing to kiting, foiling, ocean paddling and jet ski surf rescue. He relishes any opportunity to teach or share these experiences with others! With his expansive yachting background, and a desire to provide the ultimate trips for guests, you can be sure that you’ll be well taken care of onboard Galileo.

Das Kennedy (Rotational)

Daz, originally from South Africa, embarked on an exciting journey at the age of 5 when his family set sail around the world, eventually finding their way to New Zealand, a place he now proudly calls home. Growing up surrounded by the ocean, Daz developed a deep passion for water sports. He's an avid surfer, kiteboarder, and wingboarder, always seeking the thrill of riding the waves or catching the wind. With over 15 years of experience in yachting, Daz has honed his skills navigating the seas and providing exceptional experiences for guests, whilst combining his love for travel and his affinity for the open water.

Morne Posthumus (Rotational)

Morne was born in East London, South Africa and grew up immersed in his family’s love for food and its cultural significance. His passion for cooking sparked early, leading him to pursue formal culinary training. Guided by renowned mentors, he mastered various cuisines and techniques. Afterward, he gained international experience on private islands in the Seychelles, blending traditional flavours with innovative methods. With over a decade of experience, Morne transitioned to the yachting industry, working on luxury yachts in the Mediterranean. In his downtime, he enjoys family time, walking his dogs, and outdoor activities.

Blake Raven (Rotational)

Blake began his cooking career in 2004 with a Diploma in Culinary Arts. He then gained experience in several top restaurants in both New Zealand and Australia before starting a career in yachting. Coming from New Zealand, Blake has been exposed to a diverse range of cuisines, with the country’s rich array of local and international produce contributing to a modern fusion food culture. This background has fueled Blake’s passion for blending Asian and European techniques to create innovative and unique dishes. Blake believes that success in the culinary industry relies on flexibility with menus, food, time, and guests, as well as maintaining high standards in dish preparation. In addition to his culinary expertise, Blake is an avid water and board sports enthusiast, with a particular love for surfing. He also enjoys playing the guitar and is a dedicated follower of various music genres.

Katrina Reeve (Rotational)

Katrina grew up in a small fishing village in Cornwall, in the southwest of the United Kingdom. After studying in Science, Physical Education and Photography she then went on to travel. Working and traveling became a way of life for Katrina and after working in Australia and New Zealand for over three and a half years, she travelled to Southeast Asia for a six-month climbing expedition. Katrina began her yachting career in 2014 and has since worked on a combination of private and charter yachts and thoroughly enjoys being able to combine traveling, with such an exciting career. Mexico, Croatia, and Indonesia are just some of her favourite places travelled while working on yachts. Katrina is a very active person and enjoys keeping fit in her spare time. She loves rock climbing, diving, wakeboarding, and snowboarding.

Anna Ward (Rotational)

Hailing from Yorkshire, England, Anna brings a keen eye for detail and a passion for hospitality to her role as Chief Stewardess. Before embarking on her yachting career, she earned a first-class fashion degree from the London College of Fashion. A chance encounter led her to the industry, and she hasn’t looked back since. Anna thrives on the adventure of life at sea and is always seeking new challenges. A former polo player, she now channels her competitive spirit into marathon running, having completed three marathons so far. When not on board, she enjoys training for her next event and exploring countries. With a commitment to excellence, Anna and her team are dedicated to making your time on Galileo truly unforgettable.

Rosie Yaselli

Born to a Venezuelan and English multilingual family, Rosie spent her early years living in Venezuela before later growing up in England. She’s fluent in English and Spanish and loves to dabble in French. Rosie completed her degree in International Hospitality Management from Plymouth University where her passion for the industry and water sports was born. Her 12 years of experience have seen her running hotels in France and Greece before taking her skills to yachting. With numerous Caribbean charter seasons under her belt combined with her love for the ocean, her warming hospitality, and her friendly disposition you can feel safe knowing she knows how to deliver quality service with a smile.

Leonie Cooper

Born and raised in Cape Town, Leonie spent much of her life exploring the waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The ocean has always been her greatest inspiration - whether it’s free diving, catching waves or setting sail. With a background in design and a past career as a ceramicist, her passion for adventure has led her to become a dive master & to pursue a career at sea. Leonie has a keen interest in marine biology and underwater photography.

Jamie Mirk

Born and raised in a vibrant coastal town in South Africa, Jamie’s love for adventure, adrenaline, and the ocean started early. Whether on the beach, out on the water, or exploring the bush, she’s always been drawn to the outdoors. In her free time, you’ll find her playing sports, dirt biking, or discovering new places. Jamie’s passion for massage grew from being part of an active, sporty community, where she saw firsthand how bodywork supports both recovery and relaxation. Her mission is to help you unwind, recharge, and feel your best — all while embracing life’s adventures with a touch of warm hospitality.

Jake Mackay (Rotational)

Jake is a Kiwi from Mount Manganui, New Zealand. He grew up around the ocean and spent most of his youth in the outdoors. He studied outdoor leadership and management becoming a guide and instructor for Rock climbing, Mountaineering, Sea kayak expeditions, and white-water kayaking. With this, he made his way into the yachting industry where he has been working for the past 11 years, predominantly on charter yachts globally. With his passionfor the ocean and work combined he loves teaching and showing guests the best experience with their time onboard.

First Officer

Brody Dolby (Rotational)

Brody is passionate about life on the water and brings a wealth of experience in water sports to enhance your charter experience. With a love for surfing, diving, and spearfishing, Brody thrives in marine environments and is always excited to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with guests. He has cruised extensively throughout the Indian Ocean, Pacific, and Southeast Asia, gaining invaluable local insights and experience in diverse marine conditions. Brody is also driven to get the best out of a team, fostering a strong, dynamic working environment onboard. When not on the water, he enjoys traveling and hiking, always seeking new adventures and exploring nature. Whether you’re looking for thrilling ocean activities or expert guidance, Brody is dedicated to making your time aboard unforgettable.

Holly Robertson

Born in South Africa but moving to the UK at a young age, Holly has always been drawn to the adventure of travel and exploring new places. As an ex- gymnast, movement and activity has always played a huge part in her life too and as such, the yachting industry has been the perfect career for the past 8 years, where her new found love for the ocean and all the activities that it has to offer have been right at her fingertips. Holly believes the best part of what we do is sharing the excitement of exploring these places together.

Bosun

Ford Van Jassrsveldt

Ford comes from a small surfing and fishing village called Kommetjie located in the southern end of Cape Town, South Africa. Growing up with a professional junior surfing career, big wave surfing, a sportfishing charter background and lots of time free diving and spear fishing has provided him with an excellent foundation in water sports and sea knowledge in the yachting industry dealing with guests and being comfortable in the ocean in any situation.

Deckhand

Sathoshi Shiratsuchi

Satoshi was born and raised on the Gold Coast, Australia to Japanese parents. He has spent most of his adult life in North Queensland, and started his maritime career on diving boats on the Great Barrier Reef. After spending 8 years of diving and progressing to a master/engineer, he decided to make a change and start a career in yachting. Naturally, based on where he has lived, he enjoys surfing, scuba diving and spearfishing.

Deckhand

Max Dooley

Max grew up on the south Coast of the UK, making the most of all the different types of British weather to get out on the ocean, on any size of a craft. He has been teaching Watersports for over ten years, now searching for warmer tropical blue waters. Max will take any opportunity to get in the water, and if you can’t find him in the sea, he’ll be flying over it with a kite in hand.

Chief Engineer

Andrea Rivella (Rotational)

Driven by a great passion for the sea, Andrea started working on board when he was 18 years old as an engine cadet on worldwide container vessels. He has gained working experience from Engine Cadet to Chief Engineer on a wide range of merchant ships, mainly offshore vessels. In 2018 he followed his passion and started working on board yachts from 40m to 80 m. Working on yachts, gave him the opportunity to grow his competence and cultivate his passion for the sea activity. During his free time, Andrea loves spending time with his beloved dog Thomas, enjoying the countryside, doing sports and skiing.

Engineer

Connor Andrew

New Zealand born and raised, Connor started his career as a Marine Engineer at the age of 19 and has been on and around the ocean ever since. After several years in the commercial industry working on ships, tugs and a multitude of vessels both in NZ and abroad, changing over to the yachting industry was an easy decision to make. Growing up in New Zealand has given him a huge passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing and spear fishing. He is also a fly fishing casting instructor and guide, so If you want to try hook a big one while onboard be sure to let him know.
