Captain

Matt

Born and raised in Sydney it was inevitable that Matt would return to Sydney’s waterways eventually. Having spent the better part of 15 years in Europe as a captain on charter and private yachts he brings with him the highest possible standard he expects of his crew and a level of service for his guests that rival his European counterparts.

Spending most of your childhood and adult life on the water means you get to know your cruising ground pretty well and Matt’s wealth of knowledge doesn’t stop at Sydney. The Whitsundays for a long time he called home taking guests from Airlie Beach to the surrounding Islands, Whitehaven Beach and the Outer Great Barrier Reef. With this yacht's cruising schedule no one is more perfect to show you all the places you’ve heard of but haven't yet experienced.

“Australia is home and I might be a little biased when I say we have some of the most beautiful waterways in the world. With my experience internationally nowhere can you be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of one the country’s largest cities and yet in a few short minutes be totally secluded in your own private bay. Yachting just doesn’t get any better than that.”– Matthew Baily.

Engineer

Trevor

Trevor was born and raised in South Australia. Growing up in a wine region Trevor has a deep appreciation for wine and is familiar in the wine making process. However, this was not for him and he made his way up the East Coast of Australia, more specifically North Queensland where his career in the yachting industry began more than 10 years ago.

Highlights for Trevor include exploring the Ribbon reefs off the coast of Cairns to which he describes as “in the middle of nowhere, so untouched and beautiful”. His favourite spots to explore is the Ashmore Reef and Great Detached Reef.

Not just a chief engineer on board, Trevor holds a Masters licence, is an avid fisherman, diver and speafisherman. Knowing the ins and outs of fishing make him a huge asset on board for all our keen fishing guests.

“I love that yachting allows me to visit so many different places, many that people never get to see and now I also get to share the experiences with our guests on board” Trevor Marcussen.

Chef

Clancy

From Kim Kavin, influential yachting journalist: "I have to say—I’ve met a LOT of yacht chefs in 17 years of covering the charter industry. That guy is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Such a nice fellow, too. I just adored everything about him."

Clancy is one of Australia’s most demanded private chefs.
His cuisine is elegant, with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients and ethical, artisanal produce. His sense of humour and cheerful smile is appreciated by all on board, making guests feel really welcome to enter the galley and participate in the culinary stories Clancy creates.

Atkinson is a Brisbane native who grew up in remote Darwin with what he calls “a lot of multicultural refugees. So the food scene is more advanced there, maybe more than anywhere else in the world. I learned by going to my mates’ houses. I’d be in the kitchen with their mums while they were outside playing.”
His passion led him to train with one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, Russell Armstrong, and then to cater for companies including Louis Vuitton and Gucci during the days when Tom Ford was creative director.
“He had guidelines for everything to do with the brand: how much water goes in every glass, how many canapés on each tray,” Clancy says. “From him, I learned precision. I had to. He was a perfectionist.”
Hence those colorful, flavorful and noticeably uniformly presented plates Clancy is able to proudly offer from the galley.

Clancy is also a proud sponsor of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation Gold Events, and Cancer Council Australia’s Emeralds & Ivy Ball. The praises he has received from recent charters have been incredibly rewarding and he is delighted to be working with the team on board this superyacht!

Steward

Claire

Claire’s love and passion for the water began at a young age. Born and raised on the Gold Coast, East Australia, she was introduced early to the wonderful world of sailing. What started out as a hobby soon became a competitive sport for Claire when she represented Australia in Singapore at the tender age of 14. This then led Claire into a position as a sailing coach.

With a high-end hospitality background at the world-renowned Qualia Resort in Hamilton Island, the Australian Whitsundays' jewel, Claire’s attention for detail and personable customer service make her a vital part of the crew on board the superyacht.

“I love the sea and the opportunity to explore more of Australia on board this superyacht excites me. What’s better is I get to share this with all our guests on board”.

Steward

Sharna

Growing up a typical Aussie water baby, Sharna originally from Melbourne has a background in health and fitness which today is part and parcel to the ever-evolving yachting industry.

Being lucky enough to combine these skills while working on some of the world’s most prestigious yachts, Sharna has spent time in the Mediterranean, Dubai and Netherlands wearing many hats.
Her love of event planning means Sharna’s the go-to girl when it comes to parties and celebrations on board her favourite event to date has been a 40th birthday for 80 VIP guests at the Aman in Venice, the only 7 star hotel in Italy.

In her spare time Sharna loves exploring art and creativity and is passionate about ocean conservation which is so important in today's world. “Working on a yacht in Australia is a new experience for me but I cannot wait to see what the East Coast has to offer” Sharna Tuohy.

Steward

Hannah

Growing up in New Zealand Hannah’s memory of the ocean was a stark contrast to that of her Australian crew. Wild and unforgiving oceans meant yachting rarely made its way South of the country where she called home. In 2007 that all changed when like many kiwis she crossed the ditch and in 2010 her love for all things yachting took a turn for the better. Starting her career in the Whitsundays Hannah has a deep love for the ocean and everything that calls it home. In 2013 she took another leap and entered into the infamous European yachting industry.

Working in Europe on private and charter yachts Hannah has built such a high expectation for herself and her interior staff nothing but the best will do for her guests. Whether it be hosting a cocktail party or creating memories term charter guests will never forget anyone looking at chartering this superyacht in the future can rest assured they are in the best of hands.

“There is nothing more satisfying than the look on people’s faces when you show them something completely new for the first time. We forget how lucky we are here in Australia and can become complacent and take it for granted. Yachting keeps me grounded and on a daily basis I fall in love all over again with this uniquely rewarding industry.” – Hannah Willan.

Deckhand

Jack

Jack hails from Sydney so it is no wonder he ended up in the Australian yachting industry. He knows Sydney Harbour like the back of his hand and loves to show his guests the bays and beaches only superyacht tenders can access.

With 3 years’ experience in the industry so far, Jack has not sat idle navigating the East Coast frequently. As a snorkel instructor Jack’s career highlight to date has been guiding guests around the underwater world that is the Great Barrier Reef.

Not only enjoying all things water related Jack has a personal interest in film and photography and always gets the best shots when on location with this superyacht. “I love the industry and am in it for the long haul, working towards my long-term goal of becoming a yacht captain”.
