A one day trip to Anthony Quinn via Traganou and back
Departure from Mandraki Harbour
Having instructed all members of the party we serve some small refreshment on a hopefully hot summer day. Afterwards the sails will be set at 9:30 a.m. Fully relaxed we sail south until we arrive at the picturesque Anthony Quinn bay. By the way, here the movie “The Guns of Navarone” was made and that is why the bay is named after the actor Anthony Quinn.
Depending on wind force, it will take about two hours to the bay. However we will sail all the time very close to the coast, so that you can light-heartedly enjoy the beauty of the island.
Anchoring in Anthony Quinn Bay
At about 11:30 we reach the swimming bay where we usually stay for two hours. So you have got enough time for swimming and having lunch.
The scenic bay, surrounded by rocks, provides more under water, too. Therefore it is a must for everybody to snorkel in the bay. We provide with the equipment without any costs.
Proceeding to Traganou Beach
In the afternoon the anchor is raised and the sails are set again. Now we proceed to the nearby mile long shingle beach Traganou (Beach) Afandou’s mile long gravel-beach was awarded a blue flag for superb water quality and is partly deserted or hardly visited. Directly beside the pebble beach there is the only golf-course on the island.
Here too you have got the chance to enjoy the cool sea to the full. At the end we return to our home port Mandraki, which we should reach at about 18:00 p.m.
